Library New Website

You will find all the information you may need on our new website such as the following; Library Policies, Helpful Tutorials, Updates, as well as the Catalog. Stop in and check it out.

LPC Library on Google Scholar

We have some exciting news, you are now able to search through LPC's electronic articles through Google Scholar. While it is always better to go through the library's catalog and databases prior to searching Google Scholar, we want you to know that this option is now available to you in a few easy steps.

1. Go to googlescholar.com
2. Click "Settings" at the top of the page.
3. Click "Library Links" and type in "LPC"
4. Check the box next to "Life Pacific College - Get from LPC"
5. Click "Save"

Below you will find the process step by step using pictures

End of the Fall 2014 Semester News and Updates!

News and Updates,

The semester is almost done, which means extended hours for the Library. (Just a reminder we are now serving coffee for $1.00 and Hot cocoa and Tea for $0.75 when the Loop is closed. Take advantage of this during extended hours. See the person at the front desk for help.)

Finally we are very sad to announce that one of our own will be leaving us. This is Luke Kosmas' last semester at LIFE. We wish him the best of luck in all of his endeavors. Please stop in and let him know how much you appreciate him.

Luke Kosmas has worked in the Library for the past year. He is from San Marcos, CA. Luke has a passion for screen writing and is going to pursue that next Fall at APU. He won't be too far from LIFE but he will be missed by all the staff in the Library. He is excited for this next step in his life and we are excited for him. Next semester he will be taking a couple classes back home and then transferring to APU in the Fall.
It has been a joy to have Luke a part of the Wolf-pack.
We bid thee farewell Luke!

LibGuides

Dear Students,

The Library has created guides to help students with research and citation. Some of our “LibGuides” are course specific and others are topical. Course specific guides contain an assignment page providing help for specific assignments in the course, a sources page suggesting relevant sources and how to use them, and a citation page with guides on how to properly cite materials. The topical guides cover research strategies for papers and projects, and online search techniques. There is also a guide dedicated for video tutorials that provide helpful demonstrations on how to use products and perform research. We are constantly working on making these better and adding new ones. Please take a moment to visit the LibGuides at lifepacific.libguides.com

New Database Login and Password

Dear Students,

 

The library is currently in the process of transitioning to a new catalog (live in January) http://lifepacificcollege.worldcat.org/. With this transition, there has been a change in the authentication process. Previously, patrons would use a generic username (lifepaclib) and password (prayer) to access all of our electronic materials from off campus. This generic account is no longer operational, and patrons will now need to use their Id# and create their own unique password. The process is very simple and shouldn’t take more than a few minutes. The library has created a short (3:40 min) video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LH55l6Ack4Q to help provide instruction, and demonstrate some of the new features accompanying this transition.

Potential problems

·         If you receive the following error when trying to change your password, then please contact me because your account has not been loaded, or you are using the wrong username/id#. 

·         When you setup your new password, the message will be sent to your lifepacific.edu email account. However, some of our Ignite, DCP, MASL students, as well as, some faculty members may have a different email account. Please be sure to check any and all email accounts from which you regularly receive notifications from Life.
